OIPMAC announces flexible study schedule option for Accreditation Candidates
New approach responds to personal, professional commitments
Accreditation Candidates working towards their Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) designation can now take advantage of a newly introduced flexible study schedule. Although the modules and interactive workshops in the accreditation program have been designed in a specific order to be completed in a set three-year schedule, Accreditation Candidates can now take modules and workshops in a different order and combination of their choosing within the three-year period.
The original study schedule was introduced to help guide students through the program. It was balanced with one 13-week module (or two 7-week modules) and one interactive workshop per semester over three years. Now, Accreditation Candidates can complete the modules and workshops faster and in the order they choose.
“Students are asking for more flexibility when working toward their designation,” said Hilkka McCallum, Director, Accreditation and Program Development at the Ontario Institute of PMAC. “We have introduced this new study option so students can earn their designation faster and in a format more convenient for them.”
Regardless of the approach taken, it should be noted that the first module, Supply Chain Management, must be taken before any other module or workshop. Module 1 provides foundational supply chain management knowledge and teaches the business case study method that is used throughout the accreditation program. However, Accreditation Candidates can now take the remaining modules and interactive workshops in whatever order and combination they choose to best meet their personal schedules.
While the original three year schedule is the recommended route and remains the best method for progressing through the accreditation program, OIPMAC is offering flexibility in the study schedule in response to needs that have been expressed by existing and prospective Accreditation Candidates.
