Barry Dearborn
Barry’s formal education was in the accounting field but an
unexpected promotion from the stockroom to an expediting position in the
Purchasing Department of Motorola Canada Ltd. in 1980 paved the way to a
28 year career path. The bulk of that time has been in Hi-Tech
manufacturing and the Computer Reselling industry. Brief stops in
Hi-Tech metal enclosure manufacturing and the PC power supply
manufacturing sectors led to his current position at Compugen Inc., the
largest national Value Added Reseller in Canada.
After several years of progressive responsibilities in Materials
Management, Barry took on the new position of Supplier Contracts
Manager/Supplier Relationship Manager, a reflection of the changing
environment demanded by IT Partners and the strategic move towards long
term, mutually beneficial, relationships that are imperative for success
in that industry.
Earning his C.P.P. in 1993 was really just the next stage in the
journey of continuous improvement that all Supply Chain professionals
must undertake in order to bring the maximum value to their
Organizations and Customers.
Barry finds that the OIPMAC’s ability to stay current with trends and
occurrences in the Supply Chain field by continually upgrading and
modifying the C.P.P. program, make it an invaluable asset for
individuals and businesses alike.
